Domains FAQ

What is InterNIC?
InterNIC Registration Services is located at Network Solutions, Inc., Herndon, VA, and is funded by a co-operative agreement from the National Science Foundation to provide registration services for the Internet community via telephone, electronic mail, and U.S. postal mail. Registration Services works closely with domain administrators, network co-ordinators, Internet service providers, and other various users in its registration activities.

How do I register a new domain name?
If you wish to register the domain but not use it immediately, goto
our registration center to register your domain. We will park it for you on our servers.

If you wish to start using it right away, check the name is available and then fill out our order form, checking the "New Domain" box. We will register it then for you. There is no additional charge for this.

How do I modify an existing domain name to work with Quisqueya Hosting?
You need to go to Network Solutions` homepage, click "making changes" on the left hand side, then fill out your current domain in the box (yourname.com). Submit it, then click "Domain Registration Agreement" at the top. Enter your domain once again, and your email address which is listed as the admin contact for the domain, and make sure "modify" is selected. Click the submit button, and then enter the information below in the nameserver information boxes.

You will be required to provide the following information when registering a new domain name:

Primary Server Hostname ns.speedyserver.net
Primary Server Netaddress 209.78.5.15
Secondary Server Hostname ns2.speedyserver.net
Secondary Server Netaddress 209.182.34.196

Submit the form, they will send you a copy of it by email to the address you entered. You must then forward the entirety of the email to hostmaster@internic.net from the email account listed as the admin contact. This is a security measure imposed by the InterNIC to stop other people changing your domain. We cannot do this on your behalf, for the reason above.

How can I check if the domain I want is available?
You can use our
Domain Checking Facility.
